Slant (Gokigen Naname): Clivus
One diagonal per cell — never a loop
The rules
- Draw one diagonal in every cell, so that every numbered corner has exactly that many diagonals pointing into it.
- The diagonals must never form a closed loop anywhere on the grid.
- Every single cell on the board carries a diagonal by the end — none is left empty.
- Only one mistake is pointed out as you play: a closed loop. A board left with empty cells or a wrong count won't be marked — so a board with no warnings on it can still be unfinished.
- Tap a cell to draw \, tap again to clear it. Long-press to draw / instead, and to clear that the same way. Drag across cells to draw the same diagonal through all of them.
- Every puzzle here is solvable by reasoning alone. You never have to guess.
- Got it

Common questions
Is Clivus free?
Yes. You can play here without paying and without an account. Ads keep the lights on.
Where is my progress saved?
In this browser, on this device. If you clear the site data, your progress goes with it. A free Solvarium account keeps it safe.
Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. It runs in any current browser on phones, tablets and computers, and the board resizes to fit the screen.
Does every puzzle really have one solution?
Yes. Every board goes through a solver before it ships, and anything with more than one solution is thrown out.
